Whoa

I haven't been posting much here because Becca's been up to visit and I've been sick. I woke up this morning feeling closer to death than I ever have before, partly due to this really bad cold and partly due to a Special Brew hangover. Since I knew I was going to be bedridden, I decided to set up a little Tumblr-based website to see if it would get some attention. Christ alive it did. In under two hours, I got 50 followers. I don't think the web form I mocked up is going to hold under the pressure if the site keeps getting bigger, so if anyone knows a simple way I can get a dependable web form, let me know.

A Bike

I don't normally post my pictures here, but I'm sick and I think this one turned out well. Also, I'm curious to see how posterous handles png transparency. Blah blah blah don't use this without permission, etc.

Party Favor

You know that feeling you get when you wake up after a long night of partying? I don't specifically mean a hang-over, but that sore throat coupled with the distant taste of blood and the shakes. I always think it's kind of funny. It doesn't feel like a night out if I didn't have this physical manifestation of how much fun I had.

I think I can only hear out of one ear.

Birthday Parties Full of People I Dislike

10 mins, 4 beers, whichever comes first

Finally

I'm finished with my grant proposal. It's not going to be accepted, but at least my boss will be happy I tried. I'd be scared if it actually did get accepted, because then I'd have to write a much more comprehensive proposal including budgeting and stuff. Don't get me started on actually doing the project.

Why I won't get accepted:

I said I could solve that whole terrorism problem once and for all.

Through constructivism.

That's like me saying I can solve the bail-out problem with tarot cards. Even if I'm right, it won't work.

Stupid

I just figured it's probably something to do with my domain host, whose website seems to be down, too, although some other domains I have with them still seem to work...

Very Strange

It seems the two websites that use my name (my tumblr and my about me) are both mysteriously showing no server. This is strange because one is hosted on tumblr, which is still working fine (except my site) and the other is hosting on nearlyfreespeech.net, which seems to be working fine (except for my site). It's actually pretty spooky, like maybe this was a concerted effort to shut down sites bearing my name.

Today

It's been great. I'm not sure why. As said, I woke up at 6:30, but instead of trying to go back to bed, I got up and dressed.

I strutted into town with the intention of getting a Subway sandwich and taking a bunch of pictures. The people around here aren't too happy when you start snapping pictures around them, so I only managed to get a couple crappy shots. The shops were all open, so I did all the shopping I'd been putting off, which weighed me down a bit with cans of soup, pans, meat-free meat sticks, salt, basil, and chili. All the funny looking people made me smile as I walked past them. Even the inept Subway girl gave me a warm feeling of camaraderie with the human race. Also, I was sleep-deprived.

It all caught up with me and I ended up taking a nap. Since then, I've been looking through Beatles bootlegs I don't have and listening to cheesy music.

I'm glad I decided to take the day off of being a drunk neurotic. Maybe I'll go back into town and buy some ice cream and a mug later.
